Love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling.

It's about the training
My mother was a single mother with 7 kids in the 70s and 80s. It was really hard for her.
And she never let us forget it.
No Christmas lists, no asking for toys, money or time. We were never allowed to ask for anything for ourselves. Doing so set off a litany of woe, not the least of which was hearing about how selfish we were and how dare we ask for anything when she herself had so little. We...
It works every time
“Always put your faith in vices. Trust my slyness if you think I’m sly….”
It’s by James Goldman, The Lion In Winter and I swear to god if you have to deal with people in any capacity, you need to believe this.
Personally, I run across big egos that are constantly hungry. So big that they can’t see the contradictions in their behavior and so hungry that the...

Jesus was a Jew, yes, but only on his mothers side.

Selective blindness
How? How in the name of sanity can you complain about someone doing to you on Monday and Wednesday what you’re doing to someone else on Tuesday and Thursday?
Why do you get upset when that’s brought to your attention?
What you’ve done is ruin your credibility and proven yourself a hypocrite.
But don’t worry, I won’t spread it around.
You can’t put your finger there.
OH!
PUT YOUR FINGER THERE!

For me it's more like an aversion.
I’m not Howie Mandell. Not diagnosable.
I just don’t want to hug you. I DO NOT want to kiss you, no massage for me thanks and friendly pats on the back are not encouraged.
I’d like 2 feet of personal space at all times, anything less than a foot and I start to feel threatened.
No offense.
You’re just gross.

Dramatic scale
Like the rest of the world, the daily drama’s in my life are small but totally consuming. The stresses, the family guilt, the friendship drama. Usually when we speak to each other, it’s about our own versions of these themes.
Then something huge happens, like the recent SCOTUS ruling that corporations may use as much money as they want on political campaigns under the free speech...

Democracy for sale
The Supreme Court has allowed unlimited corporate contributions to political campaigns.
It seems to me that now, whoever has the most money to throw at the media and lobbyists will have an undue influence in election results. It also seems like unless you have a huge corporation or lobby interested in what you have to say, you won’t be heard.
Is this okay with you?

"The American People"
Just shut the fuck up and say what you mean; “The people who agree with me”.
They all say it and they all mean the same thing.
Clearly the politicos are the only people who don’t realise that the American people don’t agree on anything.
I’d vote for the first candidate of any party who just mans up and says “I know half of you are going to hate this, but I...
Table for one
“No. I’m not expecting anyone else.” “Just me”. “Yeah. Just one”.
Fuck you!
I go out to eat alone. I go to the theater alone. Stores, malls, movies. Alone alone alone.
Why? Why is my independence a problem for you? Why does a person eating by himself make an entire restaurant uncomfortable. Why, during every intermission of every show I’ve ever...

The family tree has root-rot
Turns out my fathers father killed his wife, my fathers mother.
It supposedly happened during a domestic dispute. He pushed her, she fell and hit her head and died.
I never knew her. the event happened before I was born. The woman who I called “grandma Dot” was his second wife, which may explain why she was such a bitch to us.
So, I suppose even though I have not conquered the...

Get the fuck out of D.C..
I can solve this lobbyist problem, as usual, noone will like it but I think it makes sense. Lobbyists succeed because the entire government is in one location. A hundred years ago this made sense, but it’s not necessary anymore. Send all the congress, both houses, home to their districts and let them work from there. A secure internet server could keep them all in contact with each...

Adults-only States.
So seeing all these adults-only or senior-only living communities got me thinking about expanding the concept.
I don’t have kids. I don’t care if you have kids, I just don’t want to ever feel any pressure to alter my behavior in any way because of your kids. I smoke. I use adult language. I get high. I like porn. I drink. etc., etc..
I don’t think I should suffer any...
